Hello fellow sun lovers, anglers, boaters, divers and friends of the Florida Gulf . We have such a great area on the nature coast for getting out on the water with the Weeki Wachee, Homosassa, Crystal, and Withalacoochee rivers going out into the gulf in our area and a bit further south we have the white sand beaches of Pinellas, Manatee, and Sarasota counties. Its time to get all your of your equipment ready for another summer out on the flats, beaches ,distant depths or up a river (make sure and bring your paddle). The temperature in the gulf on the nature coast is now 81 degrees and the water is quite clear. There are spanish mackerel, cobia, trout, snook and reds just waiting to tear line from your reel. Scallop season starts at the beginning of June north of Pasco and Hernando county line. You are allowed a 5 gallon bucket (in the shell) per person per day. Remember to have all your life saving equipment checked out and have a great summer of boating, fishing and diving.
