This $46 million dollar project began more than a year ago and provides jobs for approximately 150 workers with about 80 percent of them from Hernando and Pasco Counties.
The new campus includes five buildings; a 20,000 sqft library including a technology center and the teaching and learning center, housing administration and student development, multipurpose, and the other two buildings are for classrooms which will make it a total of approx. 100,000 sq ft. The 52 acre site PHCC Spring Hill sits on leaves plenty of room for expansion if needed down the road. The Spring Hill campus is located on Beverly Court in Spring Hill just off Commercial Highway (Hwy 19) just North of County Line Rd (which divides Hernando and Pasco Counties). This location was strategically picked due to the other PHCC campuses located in Brooksvile, Dade City and New Port Richey. A fifth location could open in Wesley Chapel in 2013 with 60 acres of donated land and will turn the Porter Family Ranch into PHCC's fifth full service campus. The Spring Hill campus will have nine full time professors, 45 to 50 adjuncts, 15 full time staff members and five part time staff members. PHCC currently has a total of 15,000 students and enrollment has been climbing quickly in recent years. About 2000 PHCC students live in and around Spring Hill and will likely want to enroll at the new campus. The Spring Hill campus will open in August 2010 with classes beginning on Aug 23rd.
