There is a whole controversy regarding the Tampa Bay Rays staying at the Tropicana Stadium which they currently lease from the City of St. Petersburg, Florida. The fans for some unknown reason to me, do not fill the Stadium and why not - the Tampa Bay Rays are high in rankings - I love going there!
The owner who is from New York, feels that if he moves the Rays to Tampa area, more fans will come. I live in the Weeki Wachee, Spring Hill area in Hernando County and it is less than a hour away. Coming from NY that trip is a breeze - no traffic and beautiful sunsets! My thinking is if you are a fan, you go wherever they are! St. Pete is not that far from Tampa.
