It seems there is a rumor out there that Insurance Companies will cancel Sinkhole Coverage on all homes in Hernando and Pasco Counties by December 31, 2009 and to obtain sinkhole coverage beginning January 1, 2010, your home must be physically inspected for any signs of sinkhole activity such as cracks etc. THIS IS NOT TRUE!
Apparently there was a recent newspaper article that suggested just that. In today's Hernando Times the article states that ALL homeowners companies and Florida Take Out Companies have sinkhole purchase endorsement. There have been a few cancellations of sinkhole coverage by the insured, but they have been due to economic hardships, not by insurance companies.
