My husband and I decided to get into our convertible this morning and ride up to Citrus somewhere for breakfast. It was nice and cool and just a beautiful day in Florida. We live in Weeki Wachee and started north up Rt 19. I remembered that a restaurant opened, probably a year ago, and I wasn't sure it served breakfast. However, as we were coming upon it, we saw many cars. It is just north of the Sugarmill Woods entrance and it is in the Sweetwater Center on the east side of rt 19.
The menu said eggs benedict are only served on Fridays but the waitress told us they were serving them today. They were delicious! I like the eggs benedict at Brian's Place in Hernando Beach, but I think they were even better. The best were the homefries. I come from Long Island, NY and this chef must be from that area also, because again, they brought back memories! My husband ordered his usual, eggs, bacon, the homefries and toast. The only little annoyance was that the toast wasn't ready when they gave him the order, and he had to remind them.
It's a great place that is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and they also were very reasonable.
